New home page for Statistics Canada’s website: Task-based and user friendly!

OTTAWA — On December 2, 2009, visitors of Statistics Canada's website will experience a more streamlined home page!

By visiting the new home page at www.statcan.gc.ca, they will be able to navigate and search for information more easily—and still have quick access to all the databases and other tools they rely on regularly with the new “Browse by key resource” function.

New sections, such as “Popular picks” and “Browse by subject” will allow visitors to target their search better. There is also a new search toolbar with improved functions, now positioned front and centre.

It is important for us to offer our visitors relevant, reliable information in a simple and effective way. This reorganization is part of a continuous improvement process based on visitors’ feedback.
